Welcome back to 7 Days of NBA! This week we saw the All-Star selections, teams hitting big winning (and losing) streaks, and the announcement of the second half schedule. Let's jump into this week's top takeaways. Major Takeaways 1. They Got the All-Star Selections Right... Except for One The 2021 NBA All-Star selections were released this week, and I must say I am pleased with the selections. Usually every year, I can point out a few big names that were snubbed, but this year I struggled to do so. However, there is one name that stands out to me that shocked me when I didn't see his name, and that's Devin Booker. Throughout his career, Booker has always put up All-Star numbers, but the complaint everybody has had was that he wasn't playing on a decent team. Therefore, people assumed that since he was the best player on a mediocre team, he would be able to shoot and put up any stats that he wants. This year, the Phoenix Suns are currently 20-10 and sit at the 4 spot

Welcome back to 7 Days of NBA! This week we saw trade rumors start to swirl, an injury to a big name superstar, and teams starting to find their identities. Let's hop into this week's major takeaways. Major Takeaways 1. This Year's Rookie Class is Deeper than Most One thing that has really stood out to me this season is the great play by the rookies. LaMelo Ball has had a great start to the season and would be my pick for Rookie of the Year, averaging 14.6 points per game, along with 6.2 rebounds and 6.1 assists. He has really shown that beyond all the hype, he can be a legit cornerstone for the future of the Hornets. Anthony Edwards, despite shooting 39% from the field and 32% from 3, is averaging 14.8 points per game and currently leads rookies in scoring. If Edwards can play more efficient, I can see him living up to the #1 overall pick hype and giving the Timberwolves another player to build around with Karl-Anthony Towns. James Wiseman (when healthy) looks like a great

Welcome back to the first actual 7 Days of NBA like the title shows. This past week as seen a former MVP get traded, new injuries, and under-the-radar players ball out. Let's jump into the takeaways. Major Takeaways 1. The Derrick Rose Trade is a Win-Win As a Pistons fan, it hurt to see fan-favorite Derrick Rose traded to the New York Knicks. However, I do feel that this trade benefits both teams. For the Pistons, they get back Dennis Smith Jr., a former lottery pick that has lost his way in the league but can get a new start with Detroit. His hype never actually panned out, but players like Josh Jackson and Wayne Ellington have found their touch with the Pistons and this could very well be a great spot for Smith Jr. to rejuvenate his game. For Rose, he was not happy in Detroit and told the Pistons that a return to the Big Apple would be his preferred new team. In New York, he can help mentor their young backcourt with R.J. Barrett and Immanuel Quickley who have shown potential so

Welcome to the first post on my latest blog, 7 Days of NBA. In this blog, you can expect weekly analysis on the players, games, and more from the NBA. I plan to have several segments, including MVP of the Week, Team of the Week, Takeaways from the Week, and more. Follow along with me as we take a look at this unusual and action-packed season! Normally for this blog, I plan on talking on a weekly basis about what goes on in the NBA (hence the name *7 Days of NBA*). However, since we are around a month and a half through this season, I thought I would start off by recapping and discussing what has happened up until now (February 3rd). Major Takeaways 1. Nothing is Guaranteed Coming into the season, and based off of what we saw from the bubble, fans believed they had a grasp on the contenders and top teams. However, there have been some surprises. In the East, the Toronto Raptors and Miami Heat have both gotten off to rough starts. While the Heat have had problems due to the Coronavirus,
